Background

Before becoming a therapist..

I experienced a lot of trial and (mostly) error:

Jumping out of planes in the Army, traveling to different parts of the world, college athletics, burning out in the advertising industry, and sleepless nights as a photographer and videographer in the electronic music scene. Following several existential crises and some soul searching, I found a calling for service while volunteering at a community food bank. Witnessing the growing need for mental health support during the Covid-19 pandemic, I felt inspired to return to university for formal education in psychology and clinical mental health counseling.

I have experience helping others via individual therapy and coaching, group facilitation, and residential treatment. I am acquainted with trauma-aware approaches, and have a strong understanding of addiction, personality differences and neurodiversity. While specializing in men’s mental health, I continue to serve people of all backgrounds and identities. As a lifelong learner driven by genuine curiosity, I continuously explore research and innovative interventions to better serve my clients.

Approach

Together we’ll create a space where you can be yourself, without fear of judgment. I am passionate about empowering you to explore the dark depths of your being with total acceptance, while daring you to embrace all of life with greater clarity, purpose and meaning. If we work together, you’ll find the therapeutic experience is adaptive, compassionate, humorous, and productive.

Depending on your needs and goals we might work within the following timelines of your life:

  • Past: Identify and analyze patterns that began in the past which are still alive in the present. You’ll understand yourself with greater insight and self-awareness.

  • Present: Learn and practice effective psychological tools that allow you to better cope with internal and external challenges. You’ll become more competent, resilient, and skillful in facing life.

  • Future: Create a vision for a life worth living, identifying and integrating values to become the person you want to be, creating positive momentum in life.
